The third generation of the SL-1200 series. A direct drive player system developed as the original model of the SL-1200 series, which has been in production for over 30 years.

The drive unit uses an electronically controlled ultra-low speed DC motor with the same specifications as the SL-1100, ensuring stable rotation by eliminating the influence of power voltage and frequency fluctuations.

Furthermore, with a large starting torque, the 310kg・cm² turntable reaches a constant speed rotation in half a turn, enabling quick starts by stopping the turntable by hand and instantly starting it.

Excellent performance is achieved through the direct drive system, which has no reduction mechanisms such as belts or idlers.

The edge is inclined at 45 degrees and engraved with a strobe, allowing for precise fine-tuning of the rotation speed with the illumination from the illuminator.

Speed switching is electronic, with fine adjustment possible within a 10% range for both 33 1/3 and 45 rpm.

The turntable is a large 33cm diameter, 1.75kg weight model with dynamic balance adjustment.

The tonearm is a precision-machined die-cast S-shaped pipe arm.

It features a one-touch rack and pinion system for 0 balance and stylus pressure adjustment.

Anti-skating force control can be set simply by adjusting the knob according to the stylus pressure.
